Brain Visit
On the 3rd of July Room 13 went to the hall and discovered a giant inflatable brain. We then split up into three groups and went to different stations. One of them was looking inside the inflatable brain. Another on had the chance to use a pepitte, vial and vortex mixer. The final group got to touch plastic and real life brains. We saw a brain that was affected by Alzheimer's, another that had had a stroke and we also saw a healthy brain. It was a fun and interesting visit.By Lochy, Harrison and Jack
Life Education Bus
Over the last few weeks we have been learning all about the brain (I'm sure Ms Pereira sometimes wonders where our brains are at). On the 2nd and 3rd of July our class went to see Harold at the Life Education Bus. We learnt a lot and we even met the Brainy Bunch! Did you know that when someone is having laser surgery on their brain that it can smell like blue vein cheese? (Yuck!) we also learnt that to keep your brain healthy you need it healthy foods like, nuts, tomatoes, spinach, yogurt, blue berries and so on.

Bake Sale
Compassion was our value of the term. As part of our compassion project we had a bake sale to raise money for the Breast Cancer Foundation. Leilani and Jessica organised the bake sale with the help of Room 13. There was lots of delicious treats for sale. In total we raised $321. An impressive amount for a class of only 22 students. Well done Room 13!

Strength Goal
We have been working on our Strength Goals in Room 13. Every second Wednesday we have a chance to work on them in class. We all have different strengths. Some of us have a strength in creating, building, art, sport and in academic areas. Leilani shared her strength goal the other day. Her strength is Netball. She created a lesson plan, took our warm up, skills session and then we got to play a fun netball game. We all hope to share our strength and challenge goals next term.
